There is a bust of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States, in the center. These were printed with pink and black ink and have a blue web reverse with denomination. Plain paper was used.
They were issued in Series 1 to 4 and without series and with or without
a flourish over the "Con" of "Confederate," making a
total of 36 plate letter varieties (WA to ZA). 1,671,444 notes were issued
(incomplete data).
