February 17, 1776 - Albany
This is the second issue of personal promissory notes for the Committee of Correspondence of the City and County of Albany (the first issue was on June 22, 1755). The bills, payable in Continental Currency, were denominated in fractions of a Spanish milled dollar and were type set with a top border cut. Denominations issued were: 1s (equal to $1/8), 1s6d (equal to $1/6), 2s (equal to $1/4), 4s (equal to $1/2) and 5s (equal to $5/8).
