The value of Spanish and Spanish American milled "portrait silver" from the 1770's through the 1820's would depend on the denomination and the condition. The year of the coin usually does not affect the value. In 2002 a dealer was selling these items at the following prices:
one-half real: fine/very fine $20 ; Extra Fine /About Uncirculated $35
1 real: fine/very fine $26 ; Extra Fine /About Uncirculated $80
2 reales: fine/very fine $27 ; Extra Fine /About Uncirculated $80
4 reales: fine/very fine $120 ; Extra Fine /About Uncirculated $375
8 reales: fine/very fine $50 ; Extra Fine /About Uncirculated $95
