    Obverse:  NORTH AMERICAN TOKEN .    1781
    Reverse:  COMMERCE

    Weight:  121.2 g   (7.85 grams)                  Diameter:  27.9 mm

    Comments:  This token was produced in both brass and copper metals, the example show here is the brass variety, which is heavier than the copper token which weighs about 110 grains. Weak uneaven strikes are common. On this example the right one-third of the token had been toned with some damage near the rim. There is also a small scratch directly under the nose.
