    Comments:  Although there is only one obverse and one reverse listed for George II pennies the design of the head varies slightly in the 1732 issue. On this example there is a die crack on the reverse under the R in REX.

    Comments:  From1750 through 1758 the penny was the only small silver coin minted; as many are found in better condition it is thought they were issued as Maundy coins.

    Weight:  22.8 g   (1.48 grams)                  Diameter:  17.7 mm

    Comments:  This is the first year of issue for the George III threepence. The obverse was the work of Richard Yeo, while Johann Ochs, Jr. designed the reverse. A large quantities of silver threpence were minted in 1762 and 1763 for general circulation.

    Comments:  This example has the second obverse bearing a revised portrait of Anne and the third reverse (using BRI rather than BR). On the obverse there are some blots of metal below the chin and on the bust made by cracks or scratches in the die.

    Comments:  This example displays the second of three obverses and the fourth of five reverses found in the George III fourpence series; probably made for the Maundy set.
