    Comment:  The production of royal milled farthings began in 1672. This issue has the first style reverse (second style reverse used 1684-5). There is a die crack as the bottom of the R in CAROLVS. Also these is a small rim nick at about 2:30 o'clock.

    Comments:  Our example is from the second (somewhat larger and heavier) issue of George I farthings, produced 1719-1724. On ther reverse there is a die break as a small dot under the first I and another brrak as a much larger dot under the space between the N and the I.

    Comments:  This is from the first year of George II farthings; it displays the first of three obverse portraits used on his series. This younger head was designed by the diemaker John Crocker.
